I am so happy to share the yummy favorite Cake recipe from my family, the recipe comes from my dear Granny Licha who used to baked this amazing and easy butter streusel cake for all my family. OLDFASHION STREUSEL BUTTER CAKE
2 1/2 cups Flour (all purpose)
3 tsp. Baking powder
1/4 tsp Salt
1 cup Sugar
2 sticks of unsalted Butter (3 oz each)
1 cup whole Milk (more if you need it)
1 tbs Vanilla
You can make several varieties of streusel for your cake:
Plain classic one: 1/2 cup of streussel
Nuts one: 1/2 cup of streusel + 1/2 cup of (pecans or wlanuts, or pistchios)
Healthy one: 1/2 cup of streussel + 1/2 cups of your favorite nuts + amaranth or oatmeal or 1/3 cup wheat germ
Banoffee one: 1/2 cup of streussel + 1 or 2 sliced banana + dulce de leche + pecans to taste
Cinnamon Apple: 1/2 cup of streussel + 1 or 2 sliced banana + 1/4 cup sugar + 1 tsp ground cinnamon
Preheat oven at 350 (F), 15 minutes before you start your Cake recipe
Read carefully your recipe and put your favorite music and then enjoy you Cake making
Grease with pam or “homemade gup” your 9×12 inch rectangular baking pan
Sift flour and sugar in kitchen aid mixer bowl and the add cold butter and using paddle Kitchen aid accesorie, cut it butter at low medium speed of your mixer until mixture resembles coarse meal (this is your streussel topping), measure 1/2 cup of coarse meal mixture and put it on separate bowl, you will use it for struesel cake topping before you bake your cake.
With the rest of your streusel in your Kitchen aid mixer bowl, take it out the paddle accesorie and put your whisk accesorie and add sifted baking powder and salt and beat on low speed until combine, then add eggs, one at the time, beating well after each addition, when you add the third egg please put the 1/3 part of milk with vanilla and beat on low speed and then medium high speed until you reach a lovely creamy and shinny cake batter, then the second part of milk and vanilla and beat at low speed for a minute and then medium high speed on your mixer and finish with the last part of milk and vanilla, if you need add you can add more milk ( like 1/4 to 1/3 cup) in order to have a lovely moisture, creamy and shinny cake batter.
Decide which variety of streusel are you going to use in your cake and combine 1/2 cup streusel and pecans, or whatever option i gave you above in the ingredients list.
Pour batter into prepared rectangular 9×12 inch cake pan and spread streusel topping over batter (you can spread Bananas and dulce de leche for Banoffee variety or Apple and cinnamon sugar as you taste )
Bake at 350 F degrees for 35 to 40 minutes or until the center of the cake springs back a little bit when you touched and a cake tester inserted in the center comes out clean.
Let the cake cool for 15 minutes on a wire rack and the enjoy it
You can dust your cake with a touch of icing sugar and enjoy your slice of warm cake with cup of coffee or tea, or glass of milk, you will love it.
